NYSC BVN ISSUE AND HOW TO RECTIFY IT BEFORE GOING TO NYSC ORIENTATION CAMP/AFTER CAMP
All the Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) should note that the names they have on their school/nysc documents should correspond to the name on their Bank Verification Number (BVN) for NYSC account creation in camp...
This is necessary because in NYSC camp, every Corps member is mandated to open a new bank account for NYSC allowance.
The Bank officials at NYSC camp will request for your BVN, call up letter and passport for account creation.
Also, do not forget to go to camp with your BVN because it will be needed for that purpose.
Advice on NYSC BVN Issue
Register for BVN before going to NYSC camp (if you have not registered before).
Make sure the name on your BVN correspond to the name on your school or NYSC documents.
Store your BVN on your phone for reference in case you forget it.
Dail 565*0# on the line linked to your bank account to retrieve your BVN (your will be charge about N20 for that service).
Update your BVN information, if the name on your school/nysc documents is different from the one on your BVN. Married women, nobody ask you to change your BVN name to that of your husband, be guided...
If you are not sure of what name is on your BVN, it is likely to be same with your ‘bank account name’, or go to your bank to find out.
Did you forget to do this ??
Don't fret, it's a small issue.
yes you will open new Nysc account in camp, your allowance will be paid in to that new account. but you cannot access it until your BVN issue is resolved anytime any day .
What you need to do is to get an affidavit from a court stating that you want an adjustment to the name on your BVN, attach a valid form of identification and take it to the bank you enrolled for BVN at.
Note : the bank you enrolled for BVN.
it doesn't stop your allowee, you just won't be able to access the money in the account till the BVN issue is resolved.
